Yesterday was Deepavali so my parents were at home the whole day. Woke up early yesterday to catch Z Pop Concert on Channel U. Disappointed that they edited so much. Of course I wasn't there but I'm sure the actual event was much longer. And again, Energy's segment(the reason I woke up early on a public holiday) was cut short to only one song which they mimed. Haiz. I like to hear them sing their ballads 'live'. Never mind. Their dance was great as usual. The rest of the show was not bad. Esp JJ and Z-Chen. Z-Chen's Mo Ri Zhi Lian touches my heart so much that I always feel like crying when I hear it. His singing was great. And JJ wrote that song.

Didn't do much yesterday. Caught up on reading Order of the Phoenix since Dad was hogging the TV, following the news on Arafat's death. Then watched Idol at night. Quite interesting. Olinda was the best. She handled both songs equally well. Though I'm not sure if most teenagers would know how to appreciate Teresa Teng's song. I enjoyed it though. At least I'm sure older audiences would vote for her. Her 2nd song was great too. Right song to showcase her vocals.

Taufik was OK last night but he's definitely improved the most. Liked his Malay song though I have no idea what he was singing about. It sounded touching and right from his heart. The 2nd song wasn't so good. Did anyone find the tune of the 2nd song familiar? It has a Chinese version by Evonne Hsu. I was surprised when I heard it. Too bad he didn't handle it well enough. Wish him good luck. Really hope to see him and Olinda in the finals.

Sly was OK. First song wasn't good. Second song was right for him. Though I really don't like Jay at all(sorry to all his fans), his rendition of the song was at least better than the original. At least I knew what he was singing(I mean, I really dunno what Jay is mumbling sometimes). Haha... He'll get votes from young gals who love Jay. But again, he doesn't appeal to me at all.

As usual, Daphne was the worst. Really hope she'll be out tonight or else it wouldn't be fair to the rest. Acting cute won't get her too far. She's been around longer than she deserves. Enough is enough. Her rendition of I Believe was pathetic. Her diction was poor. Pitch problems throughout. Flat voice. She shouldn't be in the final 11! Dunno why Florence likes her so much. She must be deaf. Her 2nd song wasn't so bad but she certainly didn't do justice to the song. Her diction was bad again. Not enough power to bring out the feelings of the song. And she's not even pretty. Can't find any good reason why people still vote for her.
